What Are Moisture Separators?

Moisture separators are essential components in industrial and manufacturing setups designed to remove water vapour and moisture from compressed air or gas systems. These devices ensure that excess moisture does not interfere with operations, thereby protecting equipment and maintaining efficiency.

Compressed air systems often accumulate moisture, which can corrode pipelines, damage machinery, and reduce productivity. Moisture separators, like those from Compair, play a crucial role in safeguarding processes, enhancing system performance, and preventing costly downtimes.

The dependability of compressed air filtration is crucial in the continual struggle against issues arising from contamination infiltrating the air system. Pollution from dirt, oil, and water can result in:

  • Scale and corrosion in pressure vessels
  • Harm to manufacturing machinery, pneumatic motors, pneumatic tools, valves, and cylinders.
  • Early and unintentional desiccant substitution for adsorption drying systems
  • Damaged item

The CompAir filtration lineup provides a variety of products and filtration grades to ensure confidence regardless of the air quality needs. To satisfy the diverse needs, CompAir filters come in three distinct grades:

  • Type B: Protection for General Use. It effectively removes particles as small as 1 micron, encompassing water and oil aerosols.
  • Type C: Oil Removal Filtration with High Efficiency & Dust Filtration with High Efficiency. Particle elimination is reduced to 0.01 micron, encompassing water and oil aerosols.
  • Type D: Elimination of oil vapor and hydrocarbon smells, ensuring a maximum residual oil concentration of <0.003 mg/m.
  • Type E: Versatile Dust Filtration, eliminates dust particles as small as 1 micrometer.

Compressed Air Purification:

Water Separation – X series:

The X Range of water separators provide bulk condensed water and liquid oil removal and are used to protect coalescing filters against bulk liquid contamination. 0.5 – 200 m³/min* Up to 80°C Up to 16 bar

Air Filtration – High temperature series

For higher temperatures, the filters are available in the standard grades to cover dust, general purpose and high efficiency filtration. 0.5 – 516 m³/min* Up to 150°C Peak: up to 210°C Up to 12 bar

Air Filtration – CF series

The CF Series of filters efficiently removes water and oil aerosols, atmospheric dirt and solid particles, rust, pipescale and micro-organisms. 0.5 - 516 m³/min* Up to 80°C Up to 16 bar

Air Filtration – High pressure series

The strong mechanical resistance makes these filters the ideal protection of a high pressure compressed air system. 1.8 – 41.6 m3 /min Up to 100°C Up to 45 bar
