various generational advances since 1987. ECM technology was introduced to the
residential and light commercial HVAC industry in 1987 when GE®* introduced a
constant airflow “variable speed” indoor blower motor.

Regal Rexnord /Marathon US has designed, manufactured & supplied
millions of ECM motors for HVACR applications over past 35+ years. Marathon Electric
India's Faridabad plant has been manufacturing & supplying ECM (electronically
commutated motors) or DC motors since over a decade to US & Middle East customers,
mainly US ones and now to some in India. On an average 500000 to 800000 ECM motors
get manufactured & shipped out from our Faridabad unit to US each year. Each
component & vendor of ECM motor is approved by India’s R&D and Quality team (which
is a thorough & detailed reliability exercise), as also duly approved with US team/
labs before employing same.
